I reviewed these notes at the end of March 2022. It looks as though the Water Taxi world from Cowes to Newport is now covered by one company but all the old numbers still work and all their prices are on a page on the Cowes Harbour website. As usual it's difficult to get hold of the Newport HM as we only have his landline so you need to email him if you want info. Facilities at the Island Harbour are improving but at a slower rate than they initially hoped due to recent events.

I reviewed these notes in March 2020. There are no changes apart from prices. Newport harbour has put theirs up this year and there is no longer a 50% reduction for the winter (mind you, they will now open the showers in the winter.

The main changes are to the Island Yacht Harbour. They've expanded the Bistro, built a new facility for the Chandlers, added a swepp-up chidrens' play area and the Council has surfaced the path to Newport. The paddle steamer is still there but they haven't installed extra pontoons on the river and they no longer envisage retailing fuel.

These notes were reviewed by Don in March 2016. Any price changes have been noted. It is probable that we can update some of the info on the Island Harbour marina in due course.

These notes were updated April 2014. Prices have been altered and note that the Medham ECM in the vicinity of the No10 PHM is no more.

The harbour notes for the Cowes to Newport section of the site were updated by Don T on the 15th January 2013. There have not been any navigation changes but changes/additions to berthing and facilities have been made (water taxi details in the Folly Inn area have been added). Most significantly the Island Marina has opened a new chapter, is under new ownership, and their facilities will be improved during 2013. Their new prices for 2013 have been posted but they have not decided whether to ressurect the fuel pump yet.
