Update June 2022
Written by Don Thomson 3 | 24th Jun 2022
I reviewed these notes at the end of June 2022. They appear to be used to "yachtie" enquiries now and have all the answers ready. Just be aware that they have a massive on-going fishing business here and that will take priority over the odd visiting yacht. But it is also a fact that some of the younger skippers may not have your wealth of experience of the sea and you could pose serious problems to them if you are not careful.
May 2021 - Friendly Harbour Master

A safe and friendly harbour of refuge on this bleak coastline!
Very busy with fishing boats.
The HM Tom Boyle 01346515858 is very friendly. He invited me to berth at the hammerhead in their inner harbour which is protected by a storm gate. I did not take up his offer as had to sail from Whitehills straight to Peterhead Marina due to the weather.

UPDATE SPRING 2021

I reviewed these notes in May 2021. The Seaman's Mission is now the place to get showers. They've changed their price structure and it will cost £22.50+VAT per night for a 10 metre boat.

UPDATE SPRING 2018

They're beginning to get their act wired together here. The Seamans Mission has been refurbished so that is now available for showers and toilets. The harbour dues have gone up a bit.
Update summer 2016

It is confirmed that they only have two pontoon berths for visitors on the hammerhead; after that you will hve to tie up where instructed on a wall. Showers and toilets were originally in the Seamens' Mission but that is being refurbished so, for this summer, you will have to use the swimming pool.
